Weekly report : Hello February!

February is here! Let’s take a look at work done this week. In this post I will only show what I’ve done in February.  I have shown some of this week’s work (particularily marker illustration of Mexico and pastel) in my Month’s Report post made earlier this week.

February began with

Pastel:

My additional pastel sketch this week was based on one of the photos I took in the gardens not far away from where I live. I seriously can’t wait for spring.

Watercolor is this week’s star material. Of course I started doodlewashed challenge, plus did a sketch for Natalie Ratkovski’s sketch flashmob.

Markers:

I have done one more travel sketch, this time for Canada

I also made a small illustration for a sketch marathon that Lisa Krasnova is hosting this month. The theme was “Ice and Snow”, so here’s my snowy contribution

Papercutting this week was merged with a project done with my kids. One of Russian art schools does a free course dedicated to Harry Potter. So we did Patronus Collages. My girl did a rabbit, and a dragon for my son. I went a bit overboard with details. So yeah, sometimes simpler is better.

Illustrated Journal this week was full of color.

My most favorite work this week is my digital drawing of a peacock for 52 weeks illustration challenge

There was a sad lack of colored pencil practice and I did not get to my perspective and color studies, boo. I also have to admit that, given that family’s schedule in February is quite demanding, I will probably have to abandon my January schedule and embrace “do what you can” mindset. I want to do so much, but there is simply no way to do it all.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week!

Love,

Anya
