Wow, what a week! Eclipse, birthday, start of school for my kiddos. Tons of art stuff happening at the same time and tons of plans to make a reality.
A quick recap of this week:
Pastel ((See all on instagram under #greenrainartpastels ):
Made two paintings this week
First for the instagram marathon (since there are rules about a specific time when it should be posted , I haven’t put it there just yet). I am so happy with it!
my second one has a lot of red as well, however I overworked it quite a bit. I wonder what went wrong, but I was a bit distracted in the beginning and probably messed it up then
2. Make Art That Sells (my MATS adventures can be seen on instagram under the tag #greenrainartmats): Week 3 of Home Decor class was all about glass. It was probably the hardest for me to understand, and at the same time, I had the most fun creating pieces for assignment. I was done in record time receiving the assignment on Wednesday morning and being all done by Thursday night. I had the most fun making a glass bead mobile, I hope to have it in the flesh one day too.
for the rest of the week I made some patterns from my assignments
my prep exercises consisted of watercolor birdies
and black marker doodles of flowers
Don’t forget to check out a special page on this blog dedicated to my Home Dec endeavors.
3. For #greenrainartfromlife I drew a bunny that belongs to my little girl.
I drew this bunny almost 2 years ago, so it was fun to compare the progress

2017 vs. 2015
4. I did two drawings for 52 weeks illustration challenge (all drawings for this challenge can be now seen under #greenrainart52w tag on instagram)
“Sadness” was the theme of last week and I tried something completely different, loose painting with watercolor, and a face (I don’t draw a lot of faces)
For this week “Deep” was the theme, and I went for Deep sea anglerfish, drawn in marker
5. More quick doodles for my illustrated journal (See all on instagram under #greenrainartij )
Next week will be all about new MATS Home Dec assignment, a small commission drawing I am doing for a friend and hopefully some free painting in pastel and watercolor. I want to make more patterns too, I put up some on Spoonflower, and as soon as I get proofs I hope to start making them available for anyone interested.
Have a lovely end of August, everyone!
Love,
Anya
